Women Build 2012 "Empowering Women" a Huge Success!

We had perfect weather and perfect women with the perfect attitudes for our Women Build Week August 21, 23 and 25.  A total of 50 women joined us to build, but each one got so much more out of their day than just building a house.  Friendships were made, skills were learned, fun was had and each one left with the great feeling that they gave of themselves to help improve the lives of 6 other people.

It was so much fun to watch the women learn how to do something new!  Some learned how to put up soffit and facia and how to measure, cut and bend it.  Others learned how to shingle a roof.  Still others learned how to put up siding or frame walls.  These are all skills that they can use on their own homes or help a friend or family member with.

We also had some wonderful treats throughout the week!  Businesses were very, very generous and our group of women appreciated everything so much!  On Tuesday, Jake's Pizza donated lunch.  Yum!  Then Audrey from Heirlooms Tea Room brought afternoon tea to us.  She also had fresh out of the oven raspberry white chocolate scones, cucumber sandwiches and chocolates.  Thursday's lunch was donated by Buffalo Wild Wings and our treat for the day was on-site massages from Healthsource Chiropractic.  The ladies loved it!  Saturday's lunch and treat was provided by Pam Johnson.  Audrey Kieper brought delicious bars in the afternoon.  All the women got a Satin Hands treatment and hand massage at the end of the day. John Dillon, one of our Crew Leaders on Saturday commented to me about all the food.  I explained to him that where there are women, there is usually food and that we can make any kind of schedule revolve around it!  I'm sure he'll be back next year!

Maude was beyond excited to spend the week at the build site schmoozing with all the ladies!  She's always looking for photo ops and is not shy about giving her opinion if she feels it's necessary.  She's already got some ideas for next year's Women Build brewing in that pink brain of hers.

I'l like to thank our sponsors again:  Genesis Salon and ensospa, Jodie Nassirzadeh - It Works!
